Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It helps how we think, feel, act, handles stress, relates to others, and make choices. Mental health plays a critical role in students' study behavior and personality. Being a student juggling school works while having unstable mental health can make it really hard.

According to mental health research conducted by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), one in four students has a diagnosable mental illness.

PURPOSE OF THE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

1

TO ADDRESS

To address the issue and promote a specific goal, which is to educate everyone without releasing a huge amount of money for funding.

2

TO PROVIDE

Provide an appropriate knowledge with the use of appealing materials such as infographics to capture the attention of the audience.

3

TO ENLIGHTEN

Enlighten the target audience about the possible solutions to improve mental health and let them know that having these problems does not make you an attention seeker.

4

TO BE AWARE

Increase the awareness of the people, especially the teachers and students, when it comes to the proper way of improving the mental health.

CAUSE

Over the years, students can experience a lot of mental health problems that may affect their mood, thinking, and behavior. Some factors that can contribute to mental health problems are:

  •     Meeting their family's expectation

  •     Pressure from peers

  •     Loads of school works and exams

  •     Individual differences that leads to ineffective learning

  •     Environmental influence.

SYMPTOMS

Signs and symptoms of mental health problems may vary depending on the sufferer, circumstances, and other factors. Experiencing one or more of the following feelings and behaviors can be an early warning sign:

  • Eating or sleeping too much or too little

  • Pulling away from people and usual activities

  • Having low or no energy

  • Feeling helpless or hopeless

  • Experiencing severe mood swings that cause problems in relationships

  • Inability to perform daily task

If someone you know is experiencing or showing these signs and symptoms, please seek a doctor immediately. I know it's going to be hard but help is available.
